I moved to the states in 82 as many of us did back then and carved out a back and forth career with PIL, Killing Joke and my own band Pigface with only rare appearances back in the uk so it felt special - as did all of the offers to speak about my time in and out of these bands.I’m in the best shape I’ve been for quite a while - after a right hip replacement (I always said I didn’t play bass drum from the ankle technique but from my hip - ouch!) and a spine operation I’ve dropped over 25lbs and feel slightly dangerous again - unfortunately with these things it’s one step forwards two steps back and my left hip is now screaming and in danger of unbalancing my spine.I’m not used to listening to anyone about much usually, but it seems the smart thing to do here is to listen to my surgeon and get in to get this fixed as soon as possible and continue (albeit crookedly) on the larger path to recovery.
