Alex G has announced a new show at Glasgow&#39;s legendary Barrowland Ballroom later this year. Pennsylvania&#39;s preeminent master of melodic nostalgia and indie rock experimentation Alex Giannascoli and his long-serving band of brothers return to the city on Mon 17 Nov for their biggest Scottish live show to date, swiftly following the announcement of long-awaited new album Headlights, due for release on 18 July. <a href="undefined">In the meantime, Alex has previewed the first track from his new album</a>, entitled Afterlife. Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). Leo Middea returns to Edinburgh in 2026 at The Voodoo Rooms to celebrate the release of his new album Notícias de Puglia (Agogo Records). With more than 400 shows performed across 18 countries in the past years and over 20 million streams on Spotify, the Brazilian singer-songwriter has become one of the most active and resonant Brazilian voices in Europe. His music blends MPB, samba, bossa nova and contemporary Brazilian pop, creating a warm, heartfelt atmosphere where stories and melodies connect Brazil to the world. Leo Middea’s trajectory took a dramatic twist in 2015, when he was just 20 years old, leaving behind his family and his guitar for India where he would spend some much-needed time taking stock and meditating on a silent retreat, following the loss of his father. His debut album “Dois” had released the previous year but music was the last thing on his mind during this revolutionary recharge. Fast forward to 10 years and Leo prepares for his 6th album, and follows a whirlwind year of touring, from his base in Barcelona, Spain. In 2024 he was a finalist and runner up in the Portuguese Song Festival, Portugal’s’ national TV talent show – a first for a Brazilian. Non-stop touring in Europe in 2025 also included a stop off at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival, a milestone in Leo’s career to date.His new album “Notícias de Puglia” (Agogo Records, 2026) written across two years of touring and travel, is his sixth studio album — a collection of songs born on the road, filled with stories of love, identity and freedom. Dave McCabe — songwriter, frontman and founding force behind The Zutons — is embarking on a new solo chapter, bringing one of Britain’s most distinctive voices to the stage in a raw, intimate acoustic setting.﻿Raised in Liverpool and shaped by the city’s famously uncompromising music scene, McCabe has always written from instinct rather than fashion. His songs draw on soul, rock and roll and classic pop songwriting, delivered with a vocal style that is as fearless as it is emotionally direct. Long before wider recognition, he was honing his craft in local bands, building a reputation for lyrics that cut straight to the point and performances that felt lived-in and urgent. That approach came fully into focus with The Zutons. Emerging in the early 2000s, the band carved out a sound entirely their own: sharp, swaggering and soulful, standing apart from the guitar-led trends of the time. Albums such as Who Killed…… The Zutons? and Tired of Hanging Around established them as a vital force in British music, while songs like “Pressure Point”, “Why Won’t You Give Me Your Love?” and “Valerie” became modern classics. “Valerie” in particular achieved global reach, cementing McCabe’s reputation as one of the great British songwriters of his generation. Alongside that body of work, McCabe has continued to write constantly — for himself and for others — and in recent years has been quietly building a new collection of songs that mark the beginning of an exciting solo release. These acoustic shows are the first place audiences will hear that next chapter take shape, with a run of brand-new material written for an upcoming Dave Zuton album due for release in 2026.The performances strip everything back to the essentials: voice, guitar and songwriting.
