Alex G has announced a new show at Glasgow&#39;s legendary Barrowland Ballroom later this year. Pennsylvania&#39;s preeminent master of melodic nostalgia and indie rock experimentation Alex Giannascoli and his long-serving band of brothers return to the city on Mon 17 Nov for their biggest Scottish live show to date, swiftly following the announcement of long-awaited new album Headlights, due for release on 18 July. <a href="undefined">In the meantime, Alex has previewed the first track from his new album</a>, entitled Afterlife. ALEX G TO PLAY BARRAS IN NOVEMBER

Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). Formed naturally in 2004 by Russell Hastings with two-thirds of the band's original lineup, including drummer Rick Buckler (The Jam) and bassist Bruce Foxton (The Jam), From The Jam are remarkable in their ability to tap into the same energy, passion and sound as the guys produced in those five special years from 77 through to 82, transporting fans directly into the world of the music that we all know and love. “I just go up and sing the songs how I remember them being sung and I am many thousands of shows in now and I also had the good fortune of playing with Bruce and Rick for many years and then becoming my dearest friends so we ended up sharing the idiosyncrasies of the songs which I guess gives its authenticity. Who knows? It just works and people love singing those songs that mean so much to them!” - Russell Hastings.&nbsp; Rick left the band in 2010 to pursue other projects leaving Bruce and Russell to join forces with Mark Brzezicki from Big Country on drum duties. It was around this time that the first ‘Foxton and Hastings’ album was born. Back In The Room was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios and also featuring Paul Weller on three or four songs including taking piano duties on the hit single ‘Number Six’. The band continued to tour extensively to adoring fans worldwide before 2015 bought about the second album ‘Smash The Clock’, released to rave reviews and featuring guests such as Steve Cropper, Wilco Johnson, Paul Weller and Paul Jones to name a few. From this period on the band's popularity saw them become mainstays at major festivals and regularly filling iconic venues all over the world and indeed back on home turf, including the Brighton Centre, Barrowland Ballroom Glasgow, Rock City Nottingham, and many more. Bruce recently made the decision to retire from touring, performing his last show in August 2025.
