Overlooking the hustle and bustle of LA’s Sunset Strip, Laurel Canyon became the beating heart of a musical revolution during the 1960s and 70s - a secluded hillside community where songwriting giants gathered, collaborated and shaped the sound of a generation. This iconic enclave was home to some of the most influential artists in music history, including James Taylor, The Byrds, America, Eagles, The Doors, Carole King, Jackson Browne, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, CSNY and Joni Mitchell. Now brought to life by a powerful live six-piece band with vocals, the first half of the concert celebrates the spirit of Laurel Canyon through the unforgettable songs from these legendary artists and many others who defined the era.In the second half, the show dives deeper into the music that made history, performing Carole King’s 1971 masterpiece &#39;Tapestry&#39; in its entirety. Of all the albums released at this time in the Laurel Canyon community, Tapestry, arguably, sums up this counterculture best. Known for his introspective folk-pop and worldly perspective, Josh Rouse has built a reputation as a critically acclaimed and perennially reliable singer/songwriter. Born in Nebraska, Josh Rouse moved to various cities throughout his childhood and subsequent musical career, driven at first by his father's military career and later by his desire to take inspiration from different environments. He paid tribute to his birthplace on his 1998 debut, Dressed Up Like Nebraska, and later explored the influence of his adopted home state, Tennessee, with 2005's Nashville. Josh later settled in Spain, where his music cycled through various influences from the light Spanish touch of 2010's El Turista to the synth-driven pop of 2018's Love in the Modern Age. He returned to a stripped-down rootsy brand of indie rock for 2022's Going Places.

Spafford Campbell are twenty-something mould-breakers, fiddle player Owen Spafford and guitarist Louis Campbell.&nbsp; The two first met as teenagers playing traditional music. The connection, they say, was immediate. The duo Spafford Campbell began playing live in 2018, prompting double takes with their delicacy, dynamism and seemingly telepathic exchanges, with the startling intimacy of musical conversations nurtured in improv-led writing sessions. Their latest album Tomorrow Held is a visionary body of eight largely instrumental tracks that hold space, resolve into mystery, that fold in elements of jazz, post-rock and chamber classical music while raiding the folk music toolbox. Call it what you want: post-folk. Trad-noir. Folk nihilism. Then know that Spafford Campbell are blazing a trail that erases genre — and finds gold in the embers. While redolent of Talk Talk’s moody, experimental 1988 opus Spirit of Eden, and riven with a Bon Iver-ish sense of transcendence, Tomorrow Held is a work of bold singularity. A whole greater than the sum of its parts — parts that include effects pedals, ambient cassette loops, flashes of electric guitar, electronic processing on fiddle and impressionistic accompaniment.
