Big Nights @ La Belle is a new month-long concert series taking place during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer, only at La Belle Angele. This exciting new collaboration between the popular Old Town venue and summer events series Big Nights Out will host a cavalcade of extraordinary performers across the whole month of August, from familiar names and party starters to your new favourite artist. Beloved Libertines co-founder and esteemed solo artist Peter Docherty will perform across two nights in support of his much-anticipated new album Felt Better Alive (12+13 Aug); Kristen Hersh brings her popular 90s alt-rock combo Throwing Muses back to the capital with their first album in five years, Moonlight Concessions (20 Aug); Multi- Grammy-Award-Winning US Blues artist Fantastic Negrito brings his explosive live show to the city on 19 Aug, while revered MC and master of the bass-baritone flow, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5, Ozomatli) brings his solo tour to Edinburgh for a hip-hop masterclass on 11 Aug. Beach Bunny announce new headline show in Glasgow

Big Nights Out has announced a new wave of summer concerts at Queen’s Park Arena as part of its 2025 programming across two of Glasgow’s iconic outdoor bandstands. Over several nights in May, June and July, Glasgow will play host to a packed line up of world-renowned artists and local legends for a run of very special live outdoor performances at Kelvingrove Bandstand and Queen’s Park Arena this year.Today, new performances have been added to the line up at Queen’s Park Arena, including Leeds post-punk faves Yard Act (18 July), punk-jazz experimenter Geordie Greep (black midi - 19 July) and rambunctious London indie-punk collective Warmduscher (5 July). Five The Hierophant&nbsp; For 10 years, the mysterious collective from Croydon, South London, has been practicing musical hypnosis through a fascinating discography. With "Apeiron", Five The Hierophant has found the ultimate formula, the quintessence of its heady music, interweaving with taste and certain delicacy the different elements which forge this very particular sound. Between Doom, Drone, Jazz and Post Metal, the music of Five The Hierophant is a true sonic adventure, enhanced by the inimitable saxophone of Jon Roffey, forging musical landscapes in the form of dark and meditative rituals. Hemelbestormer HEMELBESTORMER, a four piece Belgian collective of long time servants in the metal scene, is a Dutch word which can be literally translated as "stormer of heaven", but is given to those with revolutionary minds and idealists. Since 2012 Hemelbestormer opens the doors to a new universe and shout out a mix of various genres, like doom, ambient &amp; black metal, combined to an instrumental light-dark balanced whole.

Glitterer, the Washington, D.C., post-hardcore band, has a new record, its fourth full-length album. It’s called&nbsp;erer&nbsp;and it’s on Purple Circle Records, a little label that singer/bassist Ned Russin co-owns.&nbsp;Performed by a revamped lineup — drummer Robin Zeijlon and guitarist Colin Gorman came on board last year, joining singer/bassist Ned Russin and keyboardist Nicole Dao — and recorded by the prolific producer/engineer Arthur Rizk, who has worked on every Glittererer release since 2019,&nbsp;erer&nbsp;is the most thematically urgent work the band has produced to date. It’s also the most immediately and sustainedly ear-pleasing.&nbsp; Paradigmatically, the lead single, “Stainless Steel,” booms Albini-like with sturdy yet subtle drumming, massive stereo guitars, and all manner of counterpoints and complements emanating from the keyboard, in support of a melody — a classic Glitterer melody — that twists and turns, starts and stops, and goes exactly where the listener didn’t remotely realize it needed to go. And in Russin’s typically sapient lyrics we hear, without superfluity or mawkishness, the bewilderment, resignation, anger, guilt, and stubborn commitment to beauty and community that the album exists to express. It’s the dialectical inner monologue of a socially engaged, intellectually curious creative aspirant — a person not unlike yourself — who can’t help but notice that it’s all coming to nothing. “It’s everywhere I turn / I can’t escape / I wish I had ability innate / I wish I wasn't incapacitated,” Russin sings. “I’ll pretend that I’m stainless steel / I’ll forget that this all is real.”&nbsp;What more needs to be said?&nbsp;

Pinpointing the specific catalyst for an avalanche can be slippery — any combination of classic elements, human interference, or freak accident can trigger disaster — and documenting these precise moments often rests on serendipitous reflexes. On Two Wheels Move the Soul, Robber Robber offer themselves as ignition and capture every sound in the wake. Involuntarily thrust into the throws of rootless nomadism, Robber Robber ringleader Nina Cates collects a series of pressurized vignettes to assemble the Burlington quartet’s thrillingly explosive sophomore album. Two Wheels Move the Soul was written and recorded throughout the winter of 2024 and 2025, a season of Cates’ life characterized by near-constant upheaval. In January of 2025, Cates (and Robber Robber co-founder) Zack James were displaced from their longtime home at the behest of a landlord’s call to have their building demolished. In a moment’s notice — and amidst a particularly brutal Vermont winter — Cates and James were left to fend for themselves. Luckily, the two were able to tap a deep well of support within their community, finding respite on the couches of Lily Seabird, Greg Freeman, and Thus Love’s Echo Mars. An unused attic provided their longest arrangement.&nbsp; The personal and economic chaos of living at the mercy of nameless powers-that-be redirected into a hyperfocused attention on Two Wheels Move the Soul. Returning to Little Jamaica Studios — one of the sites for their acclaimed debut Wild Guess — Cates, James, guitarist Will Krulak and bassist Carney Hemler hunkered down with their trusted engineer Benny Yurco. The familiarity between the cast of characters allowed the studio to become a sanctuary, and foregrounded Two Wheels Move The Soul’s constant foray into sonically adventurous terrain. “Everywhere else that we had to be, we were very much visitors,” James recalls. “When we were working on the record, it was nice because it felt like this is our space.” Still, an overwhelming sense of impending doom hangs over Two Wheels Move the Soul. Every scribble on the guitar thins the air, each stab of percussion and wave of distortion makes it that much harder to breathe. On Two Wheels Move the Soul, landslides come early and the news of their arrival is just as chilly. Propelled by Cates’ nonchalant bars — inspired by the effortlessly-cool cadence of Gucci Mane and Lou Reed — Two Wheels Move the Soul saunters in and out of frame with the implicit assurance that any gaze will follow. Album opener and lead single “The Sound It Made” rattles into existence, eschewing exposition to plunge directly in the deep end. The polarized extremities of Robber Robber’s sonic palette fuse throughout Two Wheels Move the Soul, spanning post-punk scorchers, burnt-out slacker anthems, and melodies that sweeten the bitter pills stomached along the way. “Yes I know, gotta work for my pay,” Cates exhales on standout “New Year’s Eve,” a swaggering depiction of life’s myriad impediments. “I’m tired, so is everyone - how can I complain?” Cates wastes no time indulging in the miseries of late-stage capitalism, opting instead to resolve casual disappointment with a cool composure. “What more is there to do?,” Cates asks on “Pieces,” the slow-burning b-side intro that plainly lays out what happens when your life falls apart: “you’ll end up with a piece.” Working through the discomfort of class, upheaval, and catastrophe is a central philosophy on Two Wheels Move the Soul. “You can leave it, but it follows you home,” Cates buries beneath incendiary bursts on “It’s Perfect Out Here in the Sun.” Easy to miss, it is a possible catalyst nonetheless. In the midst of the avalanche itself, the sparks ignited throughout Two Wheels Move the Soul fall by the wayside, and all that’s left is the wreck. “Upend, upend,” Cates intones atop kinetic and relentless instrumentation. Then the pressure cracks again. “So we dance.”

FORAGER is a Brooklyn-based trio whose music augments contemporary indie rockwith intricate guitar work, melismatic vocals, and curious, shapeshifting grooves. NPR's Bobby Carter called their music "buttery" and "complex," remarking, "where have you been all my life?!?" FORAGER has built their following on the strength of their live show, selling out venues all over the U.S., and opening for artists like Raveena and Salami Rose Joe Louis. Their sophomore album, Even a Child Can Cover the Sun with a Finger, ventures into rawer territory––whispered vocals over blaring sirens and distorted drums, singable psych-pop choruses that disintegrate into mayhem. The album captures the peeled-back intimacy of folk-singer-songwriters with the pulsating synchronicity that only comes from a band. They recently performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, which was released in January 2026.
