Lucy Dacus will play her biggest Scottish show to date this summer, with the announcement of a massive headline performance at Edinburgh Usher Hall on Mon 30 June. The rising US indie star, who has spent recent years recording and performing as part of enormously popular trio boygenius alongside her talented peers Phoebe Bridgers and Julian Baker, returned this month with another new single of her own, the sublime &#39;Best Guess&#39;. Brothers Ron and Russell Mael announced their live return with new single &#39;Do Things My Own Way&#39;, taken from new album, &#39;Mad&#39;, due out later this year on Transgressive Records. Core., which is dedicated to heavy music, will take place in the city over the weekend of August 18-20.Housed across the city’s Maryhill Community Central Halls and nearby basement institution The Hug and Pint, Core. will welcome over 30 bands from across the expansive worlds of metal, punk, hardcore (and beyond).Some of the first wave of acts announced for the festival include San Francisco alt metal titans Deafheaven, Oklahoma city doombringers Chat Pile and UK Prog/Grind mainstays Rolo Tomassi. We also partner with independent stalls selling and showcasing their artwork during the evening, as well as with the Ben &amp; Jerries cart from CFG Events so there will be ice cream around too.
